Keeping the Fire for Success Burning

Posted on May 16, 2011 by Torrey Brothers

When you start your own network marketing home-based business, it’s very important to stay fired up!  Normally when we start our business, we have a high level of excitement. Keeping that fire for success burning is a must! When our fire goes out, so does our desire and passion. Our dreams begin to die!

The network marketing business is a lonely one.  One has to be strong in this business and keep a burning fire for success. Just as wood keeps the fire burning in wood stoves, we must constantly add wood to our fire  for success. What is wood? Wood are those things that’s motivating us to continue, those things that drive us. Here are some tips to keep your fire for success burning.

  1. Family:  Family is the number one fuel that keeps my fire burning.  It’s a great idea to keep pictures of those that you “hold dear to your heart” on your computer desk, work station, in your car, wallet/pocketbook, and anywhere that you spend a lot of time.  You need to look at those pictures everyday and know that the decisions you make today, effect them tomorrow.
  2. Personal Commitment:  Write down a personal commitment to yourself.  We commit to a lot of things in life.  We commit to jobs, our spouse, events, friends, etc.  But the most important commitment is to yourself.  Why commit to others when you can’t commit to yourself? Write a commitment to yourself and read it daily.
  3. Your Story:  Everyone has a story.  Your story is different and unique in some special way.  I make it a habit to read my story every other day, not because I don’t know it, but because when I read it I’m encouraged.  Write down your story, and make it a habit to read it at least three times a week.
  4. Accountability Partner:  An accountability partner will support you in your business, give you constructive criticism, and keep you motivated.  It’s similar to having a work out partner.  It’s hard to work out when you don’t have a partner, but if you have someone working out with you, the desire is stronger and you feel committed.  Your accountability partner should be someone local and in the same business as you.
  5. Communication with Up-line:  It is very important to communicate with your up-line/sponsor at least twice a week.  Your sponsor’s job is to be sure you are working towards your goals.  You should send your sponsor a sheet with your 90 day goals.  Your sponsor will make sure you are on the right track and keep you motivated.
  6. Weekly Goals:  Set small weekly goals that will allow you to accomplish your 90 day goals.  Weekly goals keep you on the right track and allows you to see your progression.  This will surely encourage you to continue working hard.

Remember, 95% of network marketers fail.  Why?  Because their fire for success slowly fades away.  This industry is one of the most simple and lucrative home-based businesses ever, but yet so many fail.  Follow these tips to stay motivated and fired up about your business.
